2021年7月，省委、省政府为更好地实施创新驱动发展战略，重建重振河南省科学院。河南省科学院化学研究所（以下简称“化学所”）为河南省人民政府批准组建的河南省科学院下属新型事业单位。

化学所将融合省内化学领域的创新力量，链接国内外优质人才资源，聚焦世界科技前沿、面向国家战略需求，以基础研究为主，有重点地开展国家急需的、有重大战略目标的高新技术创新研究，以及技术开发、人才培养、学术交流等工作。

化学所现已引进首席科学家6名，方向涵盖生物医药化学、腐蚀与控制、材料物理与化学、环境安全与灾害应急等。

“雄关漫道真如铁，而今迈步从头越”，化学所以贯彻实施国家创新驱动发展战略、服务区域经济发展为目的，发挥科研院所在提升创新活力方面的优势，有机链接农业、化工、医药等多项产业，推动区域经济高质量发展和社会可持续进步。

Institute of Chemistry of Henan Academy of Sciences (HEREINAFTER referred to as "Institute of Chemistry") is a new institution subordinate to Henan Academy of Sciences approved by henan Provincial People's Government.

Htma will merge in the province of innovation in the field of chemical power, link quality human resources both at home and abroad, focusing on the world technological frontier, adapt to the need of the national strategy, give priority to with basic research, the key to developing countries need, have great strategic goal of high and new technology innovation research, and technology development, personnel training, academic communication, etc.

The institute of Chemistry has introduced 6 chief scientists，it covering biomedical chemistry, corrosion and control, material physics and chemistry, environmental safety and disaster emergency response, etc.
