河南省科学院碳基复合材料研究院（以下简称“碳基复合材料研究院”）是一所以碳基复合材料基础理论和应用技术研究为主的多学科、综合性研究机构。

碳基复合材料研究院面向航空、航天、兵器、核能等领域国家重大战略需求，以服役于相关行业产业和河南省经济社会发展为目标，瞄准碳基复合材料国际研究前沿，设立高性能碳基复合材料研究中心、高温防护涂层研究中心等研究机构，组建以战略发展科学家、首席科学家、领域科学家等多层次人才队伍，重点开展高性能碳基复合材料、高温防护涂层、新型功能复合材料等方向的研究工作。 

碳基复合材料研究院实行“开放、流动、联合、竞争”的运行机制，重视与国内外高水平研究机构、知名大学、高新技术企业等在创新平台建设、人才培养和科技成果转化等方面的合作交流，增强自主创新能力和核心竞争力，打造理论基础研究-关键技术突破-产业化应用一体化的全链条发展创新平台，建成国内一流的复合材料创新与人才培养基地，使我省复合材料相关学科的核心竞争力、国际影响力、人才培养、服务国家和河南省战略需求和经济社会发展的能力得到显著增强，为河南省的国家创新高地和教育强省建设做出贡献。

Institute of Carbon Matrix Composites (ICMC) for Henan Academy of Sciences is a multidisciplinary and comprehensive research institution researching on the basic theory and application technology of carbon matrix composites.

ICMC focuses on the national strategic requirements in aerospace, weapons, nuclear energy and other fields to promote the development of associated industries, economic and social development of Henan Province. ICMC sets up several research institutions such as Research Center for High Performance Carbon Matrix Composites and Research Center for Thermal Protection Coatings by devoting to the international research front on carbon matrix composites, ICMC has a multi-level talent research team composed of leading scientists, principal scientists and scientists in related fields, focusing on the research of high-performance carbon matrix composites, thermal protection coatings and new functional composite materials.

Based on "opening, mobilizing, union and competition", ICMC attaches great importance to the cooperation and communication with high-level research institutions, well-known universities, High and New Tech Enterprises at home and abroad for the construction of innovation platforms, promotion of personnel training and transformation of scientific and technological achievements. ICMC aims at enhancing the ability of independent innovation and core competitiveness, building up a full-chain development and constructing an integrated innovation platform on the theoretical fundamental study, breakthrough in the key technology and industrialization. By setting up a base for composite material innovation and talent training, the core competitiveness and international influence of the composite material subject is strengthened. ICMC will make great contributions to the construction of a national innovation highland and educationally powerful province for Henan by significantly enhancing the service capability of the talent training, strategic requirements, economic and social development of the state and henan province.
