河南省科学院物理研究所（以下简称“物理研究所”）是包含物理学基础研究和应用基础研究为主的多学科、综合性研究机构。研究方向以物理学基础研究为主，包括粒子物理与核物理、微纳光学、量子光学、红外光谱、光电探测以及半导体物理与器件等。

物理研究所以服务国家和河南省战略需求与经济社会发展为目标，紧紧围绕物理学国际研究前沿，设立粒子物理与核物理研究中心、现代光学研究中心和半导体物理与器件研究中心等研究机构；组建以战略发展科学家、首席科学家、领域科学家等多层次人才队伍。

物理研究所高度重视与国内外的合作交流，与科研机构和知名大学在人才培养、创新平台建设和科技成果转化等方面开展多层次、全方位的交流与合作，使我省物理学科的核心竞争力、国际影响力、人才培养、服务国家和河南省战略需求和经济社会发展的能力得到显著增强，为河南省的国家创新高地和教育强省建设做出贡献。

Institute of Physics, Henan Academy of Sciences (HEREINAFTER referred to as “Institute of Physics”) is a multidisciplinary and comprehensive research institution focusing on basic and applied physics research. The Institute of physics gives priority to with basic physics research, including particle and nuclear physics, micro/nano optics, quantum optics, infrared spectroscopy, semiconductor physics and devices, etc.

To serve the strategic needs and economic and social development of the country and henan province, to focus on frontiers of physics, the institute of physics has set up several research institutions such as the Center for Particle and Nuclear Physics, the Center for Modern Optics, and the Center for Semiconductor Physics and Devices, and has formed a multi-level talent team with strategic development scientists, chief scientists and field scientists.

The institute of physics attaches great importance to domestic and international exchange and cooperation, and carries out multi-level and all-round cooperation with well-known scientific research institutions and universities in talent training, innovation platform construction, and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, so as to significantly enhance the core competitiveness of physics, international influence, talent training level, ability to meet the strategic needs and economic and social development of the country and our province.
